Try it yourself
Did you know that in addition to our major exhibitions, the Fisheries and Maritime Museum also has small special exhibitions?
One of these is The Living Kitchen, created in our research and teaching project, FiSH.
The exhibition features an interactive kitchen where you can prepare delicious fish recipes on the digital cooker or compete with your family at the dining table.
With FiSH you can play and learn at the same time. We get lots of positive feedback about FiSH in the school holidays and during special events.
About the project
Project FiSH is an educational and research project about fish, children, health and cognition. It is a nationwide, multidisciplinary partnership project running from March 2016 to February 2019.
The project explores the effects of eating fish on children’s health and cognitive functions, as well as teaching Danish families about fish and being healthy in a fun and unconventional way.
The Danes don’t eat enough fish. The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration recommends that we should eat 350 grams of fish a week. But the Danes eat on average only half the recommended amount. Children in particular don’t eat enough fish.
So at the Fisheries and Maritime Museum we have developed some wonderful fish dishes that are perfect for the whole family.
Come and play in the digital kitchen, then make sure you take your favourite recipes home with you!
