Get to know the science and gastronomy behind seaweed.
As always, there are presentations and lots of hands-on activities with a great atmosphere during the workshops in the outdoor area.
The wondrous world of the seaweed forest
You can visit our courtyard tank all day, where we have created our own little seaweed forest.
At 11:30 am and 14:50 pm, a presenter comes by and talks about “the wondrous world of the seaweed forest”.
Farming of seaweed
In our harbour aquarium, you can see how sugar kelp is farmed on ropes.
On the info screen, we provide information on the farming of seaweed – also in sea gardens.
Open laboratory and creative workshop
At 11:30 am – 4:00 pm, a presenter will be there to talk about seaweed and creatures on terms geared towards children.
You can touch the seaweed and creatures and hear about their biology.
There is a creative workshop with seaweed, seashells, etc.
There will be a tasting of seaweed chips.
There will also be some video information for the waiting parents while the kids are being creative.

Look at microalgae under a stereoscopic microscope – general talk about algae/sea “plants”.
Make your own seaweed salt
MS Smag invites you to a food workshop where the children have the opportunity to make their own seaweed salt from dried seaweed with a mortar.
The children get to bring the seaweed salt home in a small bag. The raw materials for the activity cost DKK 20, either in exact change, or via MobilePay.
Water bingo at the aquarium
Go on a hunt at the aquarium, find the animals, solve the tasks and get a whole bunch on your bingo card.
Printed bingo cards can be picked up at the ticket counter – and the digital one can be downloaded at vandbingo.dk
