Due to the pressure of work during the holidays, we cannot always answer calls, so we recommend that you use email to fimus@fimus.dk or to personal email addresses.

Artefacts

If you have any questions about cultural history artefacts, or if you want to donate something to the museum, please arrange an appointment with our cultural history curator Richard Bøllund.

If you have any questions about marine life or questions about something you have found on the beach, including stranded animals, please contact biologist and natural history curator Charlotte Bie Thøstesen.

We only sponsor charitable causes for children, young people or the socially vulnerable – and always as a mutual collaboration agreement. We do not offer monetary sponsorships.

Marine mammals

contingency plan

If you find a sick or exhausted seal/whale...

Then do not touch it. Contact the nearest unit of Naturstyrelsen (the Danish Nature Agency) or call us on +45 76 12 20 00. Outside working hours, this number is connected to a duty member of staff from the contingency for stranded marine mammals. It is also possible to contact the Danish Animal Protection switchboard on 1812.
